2016 – The best bits.
2016 was quite a year, lots of personal achievements, growth, some struggles, happiness and lots of fun! We moved to Switzerland at the end of 2015 so 2016 has been a year of new beginnings and explorations. I’ve split my time mainly between here and the UK photographing in both countries and its been a pretty exciting adventure. So much travel, more than 40 flights in total but I can’t bring myself to actually add up the final total. On the plus side I’ve nailed the art of light packing! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph so many beautiful weddings, engagement shoots, family shoots, commercial bits and bobs and just general messings about with my camera documenting daily life. This post focuses on the weddings as it was getting a bit overwhelming with everything else in the mix too! The other goodness will pop up at a later date. It was a pretty hard decision to whittle down the photos, I won’t tell you how long I’ve been collecting this blog post together! There have been lots of beautiful celebrations and so much love and I’m beyond pleased to have been able to capture and to witness it all.
Also wanted to say thank you for all of my lovely couples for sharing your wedding day with me and for the trust you placed in me to caputire it in all its glory. Thank you so so much, I loved being a part of it – you guys rock!!
Lets all have an amazing 2017, put behind us all the crazy, questionable and upsetting decisions that were made worldwide in 2016 and jump in both feet first making it the best year that we ever can – let’s do this!
Some lovely words from my gorgeous couples, thought I’d sneak these in at the bottom:
“Thank you for taking some outstanding photos at our wedding. They are fantastic, and we are thoroughly chuffed with them.” – Aless and Michael.
“Wow!!! Just wow!! Thank you so much” – Ellie and Louise.
“We just wanted to say a huge, huge thank you to you for being our photographer on our wedding day. We knew from our skype convo months ago, and especially from meeting you at the engagement shoot, that we couldn’t have chosen a better photographer. You were so friendly and such a calm presence on the morning of the wedding whilst we were all getting ready. We had so many compliments from guests about you during the day and the formal photos went so smoothly and seemed to take no time at all which meant we were able to spend time with everyone, and drink more prosecco!” – Emma and Phil.
“Caroline, Our wedding photographs are beyond stunning. They capture the day perfectly and I can’t help but get warm, happy thoughts each time I look at them. Neither Dan or I feel particularly comfortable in front of camera (although Dan somehow manages to look gorgeous regardless…) yet somehow you made us and our guests feel completely at ease, resulting in wonderful, natural pics. Some of my favourites are ones when we didn’t even know you were taking!
“Our engagement shoot was just as fab, within 5 minutes we felt relaxed (well, as relaxed as you can be having photos taken at random in public!) and had such fun
“We had an amazing wedding day but as with all weddings it was over far too quickly. Thanks to you, we have tonnes of beautiful photos with which we can remember our fantastic day from beginning to end. Caroline, we can’t sing your praises enough and would not hesitate to recommend your services (again!). Good job!!” – Hollie and Dan
“I’d just like to thank you for all your hard work on Saturday. It was a wonderful day for all of us, and now we wait with great enthusiasm for your photos. It was particularly lovely that you felt so involved with the girls that you were almost tearful too.” – Ros, a mother of one of the brides.
